The opportunity to connect Curtis Granderson’s love of baseball back to his hometown of Chicago arrived when the University of Illinois, Chicago alum made a $5 million donation to help build a state-of-the-art indoor training facility and baseball stadium. The partnership provided a platform and place for his dream of connecting with community-based sports programs to enhance and enrich the lives of Chicago youth—and it’s where the Chicago Baseball and Educational Academy or CBEA was born.

Over the last 10 years, CBEA has worked with more than 60 Chicago community youth baseball organizations, allowing thousands of Chicago kids to play, learn and grown at our facilities on the campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
